Sabina Park

The ground is defined by its position between the sea and the hills. Before that redevelopment, the George Headley Stand held just over 6,000 spectators. The venue was established in 1895 after the Kingston Cricket Club purchased the land from the Sabina Park Pen estate, an estate named in memory of Sabina, an enslaved woman hanged in 1820.

It was on this pitch that Andy Sandham scored 325 runs in 1930, the first triple century in Test cricket, and where Sir Garfield Sobers made 365 not out against Pakistan in 1958. The first Test match was played here in April 1930 between the West Indies and England. While it is primarily the home of the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), it hosted the opening match of the 2007 World Cup against Pakistan and the semi-final between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
