Såby Stadion

In the autumn of 1942, volunteers from the village of Nørre Søby began the earthworks by hand, and the neighbouring Søbysøgård estate lent rails and wagons from its own peat-cutting operation to help move the ground. The work stalled short of completion until 1943, when eight prisoners from the local jail were brought in and finished the levelling in twelve days.

The ground opened formally on 1 July 1945, under the name it still carries. For decades it served Kirke Såby IF Thor, until that club split into separate sections in 2015 and the pitch passed to Såby Fodbold.

The playing surface has stayed natural grass throughout, unchanged since those first seasons after the war.
