Spiris Arena

The old Värendsvallen stood on this plot from 1966; when Östers IF needed something better, they knocked it down rather than build elsewhere, so the ground digging on 31 March 2011 began a new chapter for the club. The stand opened on 1 September 2012.

What sets it apart from most Swedish grounds its size is the sponsorship trail on the name plate. It started life as Öster Arena on the drawing board, became Myresjöhus Arena for a seven-year deal running to the summer of 2020, switched to Visma Arena for six years after that, and now carries Spiris.

The pitch itself changed character in 2018, when the original grass gave way to a hybrid surface built to take more matches without wearing through. Before that switch, the highest attendance on record dates to 3 September 2012, when 12,173 turned up for Östers IF against IFK Värnamo — barely a week after the opening and still the mark to beat.

The ground's biggest test outside league football came in 2013, when it hosted three group matches and a quarter-final of the UEFA Women's EURO. Next door, inside the same Arenastaden complex, Vida Arena has twice staged Melodifestivalen semi-finals, in 2017 and 2024.
