Sportanlage Burkertsmatt

The pitch at Burkertsmatt does not belong to one town. It was built as the shared sports centre for three communes — Виден, Берикон and Рудольфштеттен-Фридлисберг — which is why the ground carries the name of the site rather than of a club.

It opened in stages. The operator is a company set up for the purpose, Sportzentrum Burkertsmatt-Widen AG , and its site handles the ordinary business of a regional centre: the infrastructure, the events calendar, the clubs that book time there, and webcams pointed at the pitch.

The surface is artificial, and that decides much of how the place is used. It also sets a clock running. Twelve years of that use brought the field to the point where it needed replacing, and the replacement work went ahead; the wear is the price of the volume. Among the clubs playing there is ФК Мучеллен , which gives the address as its home.

What the ground does not have is a single tenant to define it, or a former name to trace back through.
