Sportpark Middenmeer
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Formerly: Shell-sportpark, Sportpark Voorland
The ground stands at Radioweg 76 . It has occupied this patch since 1939, when the Shell Sports Association B.P.M. rented the land for a quarter of a century to mark the 25th anniversary of the Royal Dutch Shell. A circular 'Elascon-type' tribune was constructed in 1949 from war rubble.
Today the surface is artificial turf, a shift driven by the need for intensive use rather than aesthetic choice. WV-HEDW converted their field around 2016, while T.O.S. Actief installed a BlueLay cooling system in 2023 after the municipality invested over €16 million in the upgrades. WV-HEDW, AVV Zeeburgia, and ASV DTA Fortius now call it home, alongside baseball and lacrosse outfits like the Amsterdam Lions.
The highest official crowd recorded was 1,020 for a KNVB Cup match against Quick '20 in 2016. The annual WK Nederland festival has brought thousands onto the grass since Euro 2000, winning the Gouden Giraffe for charity work in 2008. The Loveland Oranjefestival occasionally draws up to 20,000 visitors on King's Day, though that event turns the park into a street fair rather than a football ground.
