Ettelbruck sits where the Alzette meets the Sûre, and the ground that carries its football takes its name from the embankment along the water — Am Deich, the street address as much as the description.

What sets it apart from the dozens of comparable grounds across Luxembourg is what has not happened to it. The name has never been sold. The only variation in the record is the longer original title.

The tenant is ФК Эцелла Эттельбрюк — FC Etzella Ettelbruck — and the relationship has held since the ground opened. The capacity figure of 2,020 tells you what kind of football is played here: a town club in a town of a few thousand, with a stand that fills for the fixtures that matter and holds a few hundred for the rest.
