Stade Linité
Victoria, Seychelles
The ground does not sit on a hillside or between rivers. It sits inside the Roche Caiman Sport Complex in Victoria, and the surface is artificial turf, laid down in 2007. That decision decided the character of the stadium: a playing field that looks the same in January as it does in July.
This is not a place built for spectacle; it is built for function.
Seychelles played their 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria here in 2018. On the day Nigeria visited, the crowd was thin.
The stadium opened in 1993 for the Indian Ocean Island Games. It hosted the games again in 2011. No architect is named in the files, and the building remains a government project through and through.
