Stade Robert-Diochon

What distinguishes Stade Robert-Diochon is not its architecture, but the layers of time that have passed through it. It opened in 1914, before some sources point to 1917, under a different name, Stade des Bruyères.

The most striking change came in 2003. The old North Stand was pulled down and replaced by a modular tubular stand. This was not merely cosmetic; it reduced the capacity from over 20,000 in the 1970s to the current 8,372 seats. The Tribune d'Honneur, visible in the main stand, was rehabilitated during this period. A further update followed in 2017, driven by the club’s return to Ligue 2, which required upgrades to the lighting and facilities to meet league requirements.

The playing surface tells a different story. Where natural grass once grew, a Grassmax hybrid system now lies. This investment, made in 2021, was designed to support the shared use of the ground by FC Rouen, Quevilly-Rouen Métropole, and Rouen Normandie Rugby. The stadium sits at 48 avenue des Canadiens, in Le Petit-Quevilly, a suburb of Rouen. It is owned by Métropole Rouen Normandie, and the name Robert Diochon has been attached to it since 1953, honouring a former president of the club who died that year.
