Stadio Gianni Renda

The ground sits in Sambiase, the district that gives Lamezia Terme much of its distinct identity, and it carries the name of one of the area's own: Gianni Renda, a local political and public figure who died in 1983, aged 31. Some municipal records still refer to the venue by an earlier or parallel name, Stadio Comunale, a trace of how recently the current name took hold.

Local historians of Calabrian grounds place its construction loosely in the 1950s, without a firmer date to pin it down. What is certain is 27 December 2015, when the municipality reopened the stadium after laying a new synthetic pitch, replacing whatever surface had served the ground before.

Ownership and upkeep stay with the Comune di Lamezia Terme, which runs it as one of its municipal sports facilities rather than passing it to a private operator. On that artificial surface, ASD Sambiase 1962 play their home fixtures in Serie D, girone I, in a ground built for the district rather than for a club with wider ambitions.
