Stadium
Stadion Allmend
The numbers on the gate said 13,000 at the end; the number in the memory of the place was 24,000, packed in for the visit of Servette in 1989.
The women's national side played there too.
FC Luzern brought Europe to the Allmend in instalments, decade by decade: Fiorentina in 1960, Spartak Moscow in 1985, PSV in 1989, MTK Budapest in 1990, Feyenoord in 1992. It was Stadion Allmend from 1934 until the day it came down.
That day arrived on 13 June 2009, and the home side saw it out in the manner they would have wanted, 5:0 against FC Lugano . The replacement opened on the same site on 31 July 2011, and the first match played on it, against FC Thun , finished goalless.
