Luzern Women

The women who won five Swiss league titles in a row between 2002 and 2006 did it under three different club names. What began as the women's section of FC Sursee broke away in 2004 to become SC LUwin.ch — the first club in Switzerland set up for women's football and nothing else.

In 2011 the club was reorganised as FC Luzern Spitzenfussball Frauen, and later simply FC Luzern Frauen , which is how the honours board ended up split across three entries for what was, in playing terms, one continuous side.

The trophy that sits apart from the rest is the Swiss Cup of 2021 .

Home is Stadion Allmend , and the arrangement there says something about how the club sits in the city. The original ground was demolished in 2009; the men's team of FC Luzern moved into a new arena in 2011 and stayed there. The women did not follow. They still play at the Allmend, on a ground listed at 13 000.
