Nationalliga A Women (Switzerland) 2026/27

The Nationalliga A, now branded as the Swiss Women's Super League, operates as the premier level of women's football in Switzerland. It stands out within the national structure by employing a specific format introduced during the 2021–22 season that diverges from the standard approach used in the men's game. While the men's Super League utilises a split model without playoffs for the championship, this competition features a regular season of 22 matches followed by a knockout playoff system.

The top eight teams in the standings advance to a championship bracket comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a decisive final played on neutral ground. Conversely, the final two positions in the regular table trigger a relegation playoff. These teams face the leading pair from the second tier, Nationalliga B, in a mini-league contest to secure the two available spots for the following campaign. This dual play-off mechanism ensures both the title and survival are decided through additional matches.

FC Zürich Frauen holds the record for success in the league. Servette Chênois Women currently hold the title after winning the 2024–25 edition. The competition was established in 1970 under the auspices of the Schweizerische Damenfussball-Liga before coming under the direct management of the Swiss Football Association in 1993. Although the current season features eight clubs including Aarau, Basel Women, and Luzern Women, the league structure officially comprises ten teams.
