Stadion FK Mačva

Šabac's ground has been standing since 1919, and the story here is continuity rather than reinvention. The southern, western and northern stands date to the first half of the 1990s, put up while the rest of the ground stayed as it was, and the club has since worked in stages rather than starting over: further renovation came in 2014, then again in 2017. That habit of patching and extending, rather than rebuilding, is what separates this stadium from the ones knocked down and replaced wholesale elsewhere in Serbia.

The pitch itself is natural grass, kept to a modest capacity of 5,494, in keeping with a ground built for a provincial club rather than a national stage. It sits on Pocerska 1, in the Mačva district town it takes its name from, and is still known locally as the Gradski Stadion Šabac — the city stadium — a name that outlasted whatever official title has been attached to it since.

FK Mačva play their home matches here, and the stadium's history runs alongside the club's own rather than as a separate chapter. There is no record of it hosting anything beyond that role, and none of the flourishes — redevelopment for a tournament, a new curved roof, a naming-rights deal — that mark out grounds built for a bigger stage. What holds instead is the sense of a stand added here, a section rebuilt there, over more than a century on the same plot of land.
