The record crowd here was set on the very night the ground opened, and it has never been beaten since. On 26 March 1989 the hosts, Hebar, took on Yantra Gabrovo in the inaugural match, kept a clean sheet and won 1-0, with roughly 15,000 people packed in to watch — well beyond the capacity the stadium would later be given on paper.

The playing surface has been kept up to date more recently than the terraces around it. In June 2024, contractors Green Game Ltd. relaid the pitch entirely, rolling out natural turf of the Hercules variety across the full 8,000 square metres of the field.

Attendances now run far below that opening-night figure. When Hebar returned to Bulgaria's top flight, even the bigger fixtures drew crowds of around 2,500 to 3,000 — a fraction of what turned up in 1989.
