Stadium Likas
The ground that opened in Likas in 1983 held barely two hundred seated spectators. What stands there now is the product of a demolition and rebuild in 2001, carried out so that Kota Kinabalu could host the Malaysia Games the following year.
Sabah FC have played here since the ground opened, which is why it is known locally as Rumah Sang Badak, the Home of the Rhinos. The women's side, KDMM FC and Kinabalu Jaguar FC also use it, and the stadium sits inside the wider Likas Sports Complex, which places it on the start and finish line of the Borneo International Marathon.
Two later rounds of work matter. In 2023 the venue was brought up to the standards the Asian Football Confederation requires for the AFC Cup: new floodlights, a new scoreboard, a resurfaced track.
The record crowd belongs to that same 2023 season — 12,602 on 2 May, for a Malaysia Super League meeting with PDRM FC that Sabah won 4-0.
