Sabah Women

The women's side of the Sabah Football Association came into 2025 as the team to beat in Malaysia's National Women's League.

Winning the league also carries the club out of Malaysia. Sabah entered the AFC Women's Champions League in 2024/25, and are in it again for 2026/27.

The team plays at Stadium Likas in Kota Kinabalu. It is the Sabah FA's main stage rather than a women's-team venue, and the crowds a domestic league fixture draws sit some way below the capacity figure.

The nickname, The Rhinos, belongs to the association as a whole — Sabah's men and women both carry it, along with the blue and white the association is known for, though the women's side has turned out in red at home in the past.

Two league titles in three seasons is a thin ledger by design: the women's team is young, formed well after the men's club took its current shape in 2021, and its founding year is not something the club has put on record. What it has not yet done is turn domestic success into anything continental. The Champions League appearances are the club's furthest reach so far, and the group stage has been the end of the road rather than a staging post. A third league title would confirm the pattern at home; a knockout tie in Asia would be new ground.
