The record here belongs to a Thursday in September 1957, when about 12,000 people packed into a ground that now holds fewer than 2,000. Strømmen beat Larvik Turn 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the Norwegian Cup.

That gap between then and now is the story of the place. The stand that stood through the 1986 promotion to the top flight was built for 4,000 people standing up; four years later, someone bolted 197 seats onto it. The reconstruction added a roof, a press box, wheelchair positions and around a thousand seats.

Before any of this, the club played on a field called Hesteryggen. The move here came in 1923, with the first official match on 29 July. Grass arrived in 1952, along with a new clubhouse and a training pitch, and lasted until 2005, when artificial turf, new floodlights and a new changing block went in together.

That surface has since had its own turn. In April 2025 the club began replacing it as part of a wider rehabilitation of the ground.

Strømsveien 16B is the address, in a town where this is the ground people mean.
