Szentmarjay Tibor Stadion
The Szentmarjay Tibor Stadion carries a name that dates back only to August 2011, when the ground formerly known simply as Városi Stadion — the City Stadium — took the name of Tibor Szentmarjay. The building itself is much older: it opened in 1954 and has stood in the centre of Eger, close to the Ipel riverbank, ever since.
Its record crowd goes back further still. On 14 May 1967 close to 18,000 people packed in for a Hungarian Cup tie between Egri Dózsa and Ferencvárosi TC, which the visitors from Budapest won 4:2.
When Egri FC reached NB I for the 2012/2013 season, the ground did not meet the division's requirements, and the club were forced to shift a string of home fixtures to Debrecen, Budapest and Miskolc. A hurried upgrade followed in 2012–2013, including new floodlights installed in February 2013, but the real rebuild came in 2019–2020, when Pharos 95 Sportpályaépítő Kft carried out a full reconstruction.
Alongside Egri FC, the ground is also home to Eger Heroes, the American football side that won the Hungarian championship in 2015 and has played in the Hungarian Football League since 2016.
