Terrain du Pesant d'Or

Terrain du Pesant d'Or sits in Genolier, a small commune in the canton of Vaud, and it belongs to a club whose name already tells the story: FC Genolier-Begnins, the product of two neighbouring villages pooling their players into one side. It carries a name that only dates to some point after the ground opened — older records list it as Terrain des Gravières, a reference to the gravel pits the area was known for before anyone laid out a pitch here.

There is no other football ground of note in Genolier, so this is simply where the town's football happens. The natural grass pitch has hosted the club since 1984, and everything about the place stays modest by design: room for around a thousand people, no stands beyond what a village side needs, no ambition to be anything other than what it is.

What holds attention is the pairing behind the club's name rather than the stadium's own history. Begnins and Genolier are separate communes, and their shared side plays its home fixtures here on the Chemin de la Combe, meaning supporters from both villages make the same short trip on matchday.
