The Village Green (Synthetic Field)
Kensington, Australia
The ground sits inside a university, not beside it. Its address is a pedestrian mall on the UNSW Sydney campus at Kensington, and spectators come in through Gate 14 off Barker Street — the field is one piece of a $40 million recreational precinct rather than a stand-alone football venue.
That precinct explains the unusual number of hands on the design. It was unveiled on 11 March 2024, on International Women's Day, and the match that followed set the tone — the UNSW women beat Newcastle Jets 5-0. The field itself only opened for general use that October.
The synthetic surface is accredited to both FIFA and World Rugby standards.
Home to UNSW FC , the ground has held National Premier Leagues fixtures on both the women's and men's sides. Sydney Olympic FC came here in March 2024 and won 6-3. The Sapphire Cup final went the other way: UNSW FC 1-0 against Manly United .
