The University of New South Wales occupies most of Kensington. The football club that carries the university's name plays on ground the students walk across between lectures: The Village Green, at the end of University Mall, reached through Gate 14 off Barker Street.

UNSW FC has fielded sides in that competition — the men's 20s among them — since at least 2018.

Sam Crawford Architects set a raised seating deck into an existing earth embankment, so the structure reads as part of the slope rather than an object placed on it. A camera position on the main stand covers matches for the club's Veo recordings.

The Village Green holds 1,000.
