Penshurst Park sits on King Georges Road in the Sydney suburb it takes its name from.

St George City exists because the St George Football Association set out in 2015 to build a bridge — a proper line from junior teams for 13- to 16-year-olds through to senior football, rather than leaving players to find their own way. The club reached Football NSW's State League the following year, and the U20 side now competes in the NPL NSW Youth League as part of that same structure, not as a separate outfit chasing its own trophies.

Trophies, in the top flight at least, have not come. The Youth League table has tended to place City in its lower half — 14th, 15th — without a grand final to show for it.

What the fixture list does supply is St George FC, known also as the Saints, and the derby between the two carries weight beyond the table. In June 2024 City won it 2-0 despite playing the second half with ten men.
