Marconi S. U20

The under-20s play in the NSW NPL U20 competition, feeding the senior side that won the NPL NSW title in 2024. The youth team has reached three grand finals — 2009, 2014 and 2015 — and lost all three.

The set-up around them was built by Italian immigrants in Sydney's western suburbs. Marconi began in 1958 as a bocce club, with the football section starting the same year, and the green, white and red of the badge came from that heritage. The base sits at Bossley Park, roughly 20 km west of the city centre.

Marconi Stadium, known locally as The Palace, opened in 1972 holding 11,500. The eastern grandstand was closed in 2018 as unsafe, and capacity now stands at 9,000.

Those years came in the National Soccer League, which ran from 1977 to 2004. Marconi took the national championship four times, the first in 1979 and the last in 1992–93, and won the NSL Cup in 1980. When the NSL folded the club dropped back into state football, winning the NSW Premier League in 2012 and the Waratah Cup in 2019. In 2025 it became one of the founding clubs of the new Australian Championship.

The opposition, for the U20s as for everyone else at the club, is drawn from the same NSW league system that Marconi has been part of since it won the state first division in 1972 and 1973.
