Tormenta Stadium (Optim Sports Medicine Field)

Tormenta Stadium replaced a decade of borrowed pitches. From 2016 until 2022, South Georgia Tormenta FC had played across town at Eagle Field at Erk Russell Park, on the Georgia Southern University campus — a shared ground, not the club's own. Daren and Netra Van Tassell, the club's owners, changed that by building a ground of their own, with New South Construction as general contractor and ThenDesign Architecture drawing up the design.

The move paid off almost at once. The stadium opened on 2 October 2022 with a 1-1 draw against Richmond Kickers, and just over a month later, on 6 November, it staged the USL League One final. Tormenta FC beat Chattanooga Red Wolves SC 2-1 that night to win the club's first league title, in front of 3,045 supporters — still the ground's attendance record.

The playing surface carries its own name, separate from the stadium: Optim Health System bought the naming rights in February 2021, more than a year before the stadium itself opened, and the pitch plays as the Optim Sports Medicine Field. Under the natural grass runs a SubAir system, drawing moisture out of the turf rather than leaving it to drain on its own.

Capacity stands at 3,500 for the 2026 season, one stage of a build the club has staggered over time, with a further phase planned to bring seating to 5,300 and standing room for up to 14,000 on the biggest occasions. Alongside Tormenta FC's own sides in USL League One and the USL W League, Georgia Southern's university teams also play here.
