Umeå Energi Arena
Twice, in successive seasons, this ground took on a fixture usually reserved for arenas several times its size: the return leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League final, Umeå IK against 1. FFC Frankfurt, in 2007 and again in 2008.
The stadium opened on 7 June 1925 as Gammliavallen, set in the Haga district below the Gammlia recreation area.
Rebuilding has come in stages — 1971, 1996, 2003 — but the deepest changes arrived between 2009 and 2011, when the running track was removed, the pitch pulled in closer to the stand, and the old terracing replaced by a new wooden stand. The attendance record, 12,127, predates all of that: set on 4 September 1996, in an Allsvenskan draw with IFK Göteborg. Capacity today is listed at 6,000, though older records put the figure as high as 8,000 to 10,000.
Away from football, the ground has drawn touring acts — Sabaton in 2019, The Ark in 2022 — and staged the Northern Rockfest festival.
