The name is literal: Fótbóltsvøllurin við Stórá, the football pitch by the Stórá river. It has never carried anything else, and the ground is known by the water it sits beside rather than by a company.

The address is 14 Lynggøta, Trongisvágur, at 61°33'44"N 6°51'06"E, though most people place the ground in Tvøroyri next door. That is not sloppiness. The tenant is Tvøroyrar Bóltfelag, and a club draws the map more firmly than a street number does.

Construction ran across 2011 and 2012, replacing the old field at Sevmýri; the ground opened officially on 29 April 2012. The surface is artificial.

The capacity figure repays attention. Sixteen hundred is the headline, but only 324 of those are seats — the rest stand.

Between 2017 and 2018 the ground housed TB/FCS/Royn, the merged side drawn from TB Tvøroyri, FC Suðuroy and Royn Hvalba. The arrangement broke up in 2019, and TB Tvøroyri came back as the sole occupant.
