TB

Seven league titles is the number that anchors TB's history, the last of them in 1987, and none of them came easily on Suðuroy, an island whose remoteness has always shaped what its clubs can build. The cup wins followed a similar pattern in bursts, four of the five arriving between 1956 and 1961, then one more in 1977, the same year the league was won.

The club itself predates the league it went on to dominate: founded on 13 May 1892, TB is the oldest football club in the Faroe Islands, formed decades before there was a national championship for it to enter. Its home ground, Við Stórá, sits not in Tvøroyri itself but in the neighbouring village of Trongisvágur, holding 4,000 people with room for 324 to sit.

Óli Johannesen carried the black and white into the national team more often than almost anyone else to wear it, ranking second on the Faroe Islands' all-time appearance list; Patrik Johannesen and Gilli Sørensen, who also played in Norway, followed similar paths from Tvøroyri onto the international stage.

TB's independence had a brief interruption in 2017, when the men's side merged with FC Suðuroy and Royn Hvalba to form a joint project called Suðuroyarliðið, pooling the island's football talent under one banner. The arrangement lasted two years; by 2019 the clubs had gone their separate ways again, TB back to fielding its own team.

That return has not brought the club back to its old heights. A 10th-place finish in the top flight last season sent TB down into the second-tier 1. deild, where it now has to rebuild toward a route back up.
