Suduroy

Two clubs from the southern end of the Faroes stopped trying to survive alone. VB Vágur, which traced its own line back to 1905, and Sumba put their football together on 1 January 2010, first as VB/Sumba and then under a name that claimed the whole island: FC Suðuroy.

The reward came quickly. The club won the 1. deild in 2011, its only title.

Home is Vesturi á Eiðinum in Vágur, where the listed capacity of 3,000 is mostly standing room. Blue and white.

The merging did not stop in 2010. Between 2017 and 2018 FC Suðuroy went in with TB Tvøroyri and Royn Hvalba to field a single side, TB/FC Suðuroy/Royn, known as Suðringar, and that combined team played in the Meistaradeildin. It was a way for the island to hold a place in the top flight that none of the three could hold by itself. When the arrangement ended, TB kept the licence. FC Suðuroy went back down to the second tier.

TB are also the opponent that matters most.

The club has not managed a season of its own in the Meistaradeildin since the merger that created it.
