Suduroy ran riot against EB/Streymur II on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 6-1 victory in the 1. deild regular season. The hosts dominated from the first whistle, with D. Godtfred firing home four goals to lay waste to the visitors' hopes. By then, it was already clear that this would not be a contest.
Godtfred opened the scoring just nine minutes in, catching the defence off guard. F. Holm doubled the lead at the half-hour mark, and the visitors had no answer to the sustained pressure. To be fair, EB/Streymur II had looked fragile at the back all season, and this match was no different.
The second half began with Godtfred striking again at fifty-two minutes, his second of the afternoon. Sixty-eight minutes in, he completed his hat-trick before J. Samuelsen received a red card at the seventy-seventh minute. And here's the thing — the dismissal did not slow Suduroy down one bit.
M. D. Djurhuus pulled two goals back for the visitors in stoppage time, scoring at eighty and eighty-six minutes, but the damage was done. Suduroy added two more goals at eighty-five and eighty-eight minutes, with Godtfred completing his haul at the final whistle. The away end never stopped, but their voices were drowned out.
The result leaves Suduroy third in the table with 47 points from 22 matches, while EB/Streymur II sit ten places lower on just eight points from the same number of games. The hosts have won fifteen of their twenty-two outings this season, a record that speaks for itself. The visitors, meanwhile, have tasted victory only twice.
Suduroy arrive at this fixture in mixed form, having lost 1-0 to Hoyvik and drawn 2-2 with TB in their last two outings. They had beaten EB/Streymur II 2-0 earlier in June, and this time they dismantled their opponents completely. The gulf between the two sides in the table could hardly be wider.
