NSÍ II defeated HB II 4-1 in the 1. deild Regular Season, round 19, on August 15th. The hosts opened the scoring quickly and never looked back after a brief scare midway through the first half.
S. Joensen gave NSÍ II the lead in the tenth minute, and R. Steinholm doubled it just a minute later. By then HB II were already chasing the game.
J. Mortensen pulled one back for the visitors in the thirty-third minute, and he made it level a minute later. To be fair, the hosts had to dig deep to hold their nerve in that spell.
M. Danielsen restored NSÍ II's advantage in the seventy-third minute, and A. Hoj sealed the victory eight minutes from time. And here's the thing — two goals in quick succession changed everything.
NSÍ II sit sixth in the table with 25 points from 22 games. HB II are ninth on 20 points after 22 matches.
The hosts have won seven and drawn four, but their recent form has been poor — they lost their last three league matches before this victory. HB II have five wins and five draws, losing 12 times, and their recent results show inconsistency with a draw against Б71 but losses to Б36 II and ТБ.
