HB II — B71, 1. Deild

B71 beat HB II 2-0 in the 22nd round of the 1. deild, moving further clear at the top of the table. The away side took both goals on the counter, and by then it was never really in doubt. To be fair, HB II had nothing to do all evening and that showed on the scoreboard.

O. Reynatugvu opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and here's the thing — that's the moment I noticed the shift. B71 stopped chasing the game and let it flow into space. HB II's back line lost their man repeatedly and never got out of second gear.

E. Oteng doubled the advantage in the 57th minute, and the home side simply saw it out from there. No substitutions changed the pattern, and no dismissals came either. The hosts kept knocking on the door but never got near the breakthrough.

Our forecast called for an away win with 71 per cent confidence, and that held up. B71 had nothing to prove against a side sitting ninth with 22 points after 22 games. The gap in the table tells its own story — 56 points versus 22.

HB II remain nine points off safety with 12 losses already, while B71 are four clear at the summit. The result extends their unbeaten run and leaves little room for doubt about who's pushing for promotion.
