Víkingsvöllur
Víkingsvöllur took shape in stages rather than all at once. The pitch in the Fossvogur valley was ready for play in August 2001, but spectators had nowhere proper to sit until the first stand went up in the spring of 2003.
The ground sits on Traðarland, tucked into the Fossvogsdalur valley, and it belongs first to Víkingur Reykjavík, though it isn't theirs alone — Berserkir and Mídas also play their home fixtures here, sharing the same patch of turf that was relaid as an artificial surface in 2019. Iceland's federation uses it too, though only for the age-group sides: the men's under-21s and the women's under-23s have turned out at Víkingsvöllur, while the senior national team has never had reason to.
Nobody has attached a sponsor's name to it. Víkingsvöllur is called, informally, the "Home of Happiness" by those around the club, though it's never been made official, and the ground doesn't even keep its own website — anyone looking for it online ends up on the club's page instead.
