VR-Bank Landshut Arena

The structure stands at Gutenbergweg 32, a site that was once open to the sky. It began as an artificial ice rink in 1957 before a roof was added in 1967, turning it into the indoor facility it is today. For decades it operated under its original name, Eisstadion am Gutenbergweg, before a renovation completed in 2021 brought a new identity.

A major overhaul between 2019 and 2021 reshaped the building. The roof structure was replaced and energy-efficient cooling technology was installed. These changes increased the capacity from 4,139 to 4,448 spectators. The east side terrace was demolished and rebuilt, altering the flow of supporters. EV Landshut, the DEL2 team, plays its home matches here and has called the venue its base since it first opened. The club previously operated under the name Landshut Cannibals from 2002 to 2013. The Bavarian Ice Sports Association also uses the facility as a state training centre.

What remains of the older era is visible in the details of the space. The playing surface is artificial ice, maintained indoors. In the modern era, the capacity is capped at 4,448, a far cry from the open-air matches of the past when attendance reportedly reached around 10,000 for top games. The venue hosted the Deutschland Cup in 2023, 2024 and 2025. In 2025, total tournament attendance was 21,076, surpassing previous years. The official website for the venue is ev-landshut.com.
