Zabeel Stadium
Zabeel Stadium sits on Oud Metha Road under the name most of Dubai still uses for it: Al Wasl Stadium, home ground of the club whose colours the stands still carry. The pitch dates from 1974, which puts it among the older football venues in the emirate, built well before the wave of stadium construction that came with Dubai's expansion in the 2000s.
Capacity has stayed modest by design, listed at 8,439, a figure suited to domestic league fixtures rather than continental finals. The natural grass surface is maintained through Gulf summers that push venues elsewhere toward artificial alternatives.
The ground carries the name of a Canadian architect, Awsam Matloob, on its design credit, and ownership rests with Zabeel Construction Club under Mohsen Zolfaghari. A reconstruction is scheduled for 2026, which would mark the most significant change to the venue since it opened over half a century ago.
