Zurrieq Ground
Żurrieq, Malta
The capacity has always been modest, settled around a thousand seats.
There is a long-standing disagreement about the surface underfoot. The address itself shifts depending on whether you look at the older maps or the newer databases — Triq il-Kbira on one side, Triq Ħal-Kirkop on the other — but the gate is the same, and the players find it every time.
The club that calls this home was founded long before the current stands took shape, in 1949, and has spent most of its life playing here. Occasionally the league has moved their fixtures to larger stadiums, but the home games return to this patch of land where the wind can slip through the open ends and the commentator’s voice carries further than it should. The ground has no official name change, no grand renaming ceremony, and no record of a record-breaking crowd. It simply exists, a stop on the road for a team that has played in the second tier and fought for a place in the top flight, knowing that promotion would mean leaving this quiet corner of the island.
