Zurrieq

Żurrieq compete in Maltese football's amateur tier, even with two national amateur league titles collected in 2019 and 2022. The ground it plays at holds a hundred people.

Founded on 16 May 1949, the club spent the 1980s in the Maltese Premier League, winning the 1984–85 Maltese FA Trophy against Valletta after the final went 0–0 through ninety minutes and was settled 2–1 in extra time. Mario Farrugia played in that side, making 354 appearances and scoring 52 goals, a return built up over a career that also brought him twelve caps for Malta and a goal against Hajduk Split in European competition.

The colours have stayed red and white long enough to earn the club its nickname, Ir-Ross, the Reds, and a youth nursery now takes in players from the age of eight.

What rivalry there is has never settled into a fixed derby.
