Gazisehirspor saw off Budzaj 4-0 in the Round of 32 of the Cup on Wednesday. The visitors took control early and never looked back. By then it was clear this was never going to be a close affair.
M. Caliskan opened the scoring in the 14th minute and here's the thing — it came at just the right moment. The home side had barely settled before they were behind. Caliskan would add a second later in the game.
The second half brought M. F. Turkozu in the 55th minute and by then the hosts had stopped pressing forward. To be fair, they dug in a little but found themselves constantly under pressure. Caliskan made it 3-0 in the 64th minute.
G. Bozca put the finishing touch in the 88th minute and the stadium fell silent. Budzaj had the game won inside twenty minutes, and from then on it was about seeing it out. The visitors kept their heads throughout.
The result sends Gazisehirspor into the next round while Budzaj's Cup hopes are over. Their recent form — five games in April with only one win — did little to prepare them for this. The hosts will now focus on league matters.
