Raufoss saw off Elverum 3–0 in the Round of 64 of the Norwegian Cup at Elverum Stadium on Tuesday evening. The visitors took control early and never looked back, advancing to the next stage of the competition.
And here's the thing — it only took six minutes for Raufoss to change the complexion of the match. N. Fremstad found the back of the net before Elverum had time to settle, and that first strike set the tone for what followed. The hosts were playing in their own stadium but looked like visitors from the opening whistle.
The second half brought more of the same for Elverum. J. Dalen Korsaksel made it 2–0 in the 55th minute, and by then the tie was effectively over. E. Asvestad added a third just two minutes later, and Raufoss had turned a comfortable lead into something emphatic.
Statistically, the match told a familiar story. Both sides registered 59 attacks, but Raufoss had 18 shots on target compared to Elverum's seven. The hosts held 54 per cent of possession but could not create anything meaningful from it, while the visitors converted their chances with ruthless efficiency.
This result ends a difficult run for Elverum, who have now lost four of their last five matches across all competitions. Raufoss, meanwhile, are closing in on a good run — they beat Odd 2–1 on Sunday before this cup victory, and the confidence from those results was visible throughout.
