Dewa United moved clear at the summit of Liga 1 after a 3-1 victory over Pusamania Borneo in the fifth round of the regular season. The visitors took the lead through I. Zikrak in the 49th minute, but Pusamania fought back twice late on before Johnathan added a third to seal the win.
Pusamania started brightly, with Johnathan firing home in the 14th minute to put the hosts ahead. To be fair, they controlled much of the first half, but Dewa adjusted well and took control after the break. By then, the visitors had found their rhythm and punished Pusamania's defensive lapses.
The turning point came in the 49th minute when I. Zikrak equalised for Dewa. Pusamania pressed for a second lead but struggled to create clear chances, while Dewa looked dangerous on the counter. The hosts made several changes in an attempt to find an equaliser, bringing on K. N'Goma, C. Iury, and Johnathan himself in the 64th minute.
What followed was a flurry of activity in the closing stages. Deni Junior converted a penalty in the 90th minute plus one, then added his second goal just moments later to complete the turnaround. It was a dramatic finish, though the result had already been decided when Johnathan's late strike confirmed Dewa's superiority.
The statistics tell a different story. Pusamania dominated possession at 52 per cent and registered 113 attacks compared to Dewa's 93, yet the visitors managed six shots on target to just one for the hosts. That efficiency gap, combined with Dewa's deeper squad, allowed them to see out the game despite the pressure.
The win moves Dewa United to the top of the table with seven points from three games, while Pusamania remain in 11th place with just three points. The visitors have not lost all season, and this result reinforces their status as favourites for the title. Pusamania, by contrast, have now lost two of three matches and will need to find consistency if they want to climb away from the bottom half.
