Bernardo Schappo

Bernardo Schappo's rise ran through Brazil's lower divisions before it took him to Portugal. Born in Biguaçu, he came up through the youth ranks at Ituano, making his senior debut for the club in August 2018. His breakthrough came in the 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, where he made 17 appearances and scored once as Ituano won promotion to Série B. He stayed on afterwards, renewing his contract in March 2022 and going on to make more than 60 senior appearances for the club, including 34 in the second tier the following year.

That form earned him a move to Fortaleza in March 2023, on a four-year deal that saw the club take a majority stake in his economic rights. He never made a league appearance for Fortaleza's first team, however, spending the next two years out on loan instead. At Botafogo-SP in 2024 he was a regular, playing 31 times in Série B and a further 12 in the Campeonato Paulista. A loan to Vila Nova followed in January 2025, and there he had his best season yet: 12 appearances in Série B, 13 in the Campeonato Goiano, and a state title as Vila Nova won the Goiano that year.

Schappo signed for Estrela da Amadora in July 2025 on a three-year contract. He wears the number 4 shirt. He has yet to be capped by Brazil at any level, but his career has followed a clear pattern: loan spells that built up regular first-team minutes, culminating in a first title with Ituano and a second with Vila Nova before his switch to Portugal.
