About the player
Bryan Alonso González Oliván, nicknamed 'Cotorro', came through Pachuca's youth academy in his native Ciudad Juárez and made his senior debut for the club in October 2020. Left-footed and primarily deployed at left-back, he spent his early career shuttling between roles, having also played as a midfielder before settling into defence.
His years at Pachuca brought a run of collective success: a Liga MX Apertura title in 2022 and the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2024, a campaign in which he was also named to the competition's Best XI. On the international stage he was part of the Mexico side that reached the final of the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup and won the CONCACAF U-17 Championship that same year. He later added gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games and bronze at the Pan American Games, both in 2023.
González left Pachuca for Guadalajara in July 2025, signing a contract running to 2029. Since arriving at Chivas he has continued to draw individual recognition, being named to the Liga MX All-Star selection in 2024 and 2026, scoring the league's Goal of the Month in September 2025, and being voted the competition's best full-back for the 2025–26 season.
