About the player
Edwar Manuel López Gómez did not stay in one place long enough to become a fixture, arriving at Deportes Tolima. He started out in Portugal, spending time at AD Sanjoanense and Lusitano VRSA, before returning home to Colombia in 2017 with Orsomarso. A season at Atlético Huila followed, where he scored 13 goals in 36 appearances, the kind of return that opened the door to Argentina, where he played for Estudiantes and then Argentinos Juniors.
Club Olimpia signed him in Paraguay in 2021, going out on loan straight away to Deportivo Independiente Medellín. What came next was a run through some of Colombian football's best-known names in quick succession: Once Caldas, Deportivo Pasto, América de Cali and Independiente Santa Fe. At Pasto he scored 10 goals in 42 matches. Most of these moves came on free transfers or undisclosed fees.
His time at Independiente Santa Fe brought the club won the 2025 Torneo Apertura during his spell there. He joined Deportes Tolima in January 2026, wearing number 28, still without a senior call-up to the Colombia national team.
