About the player
Fotis Ioannidis started out in the Levadiakos academy and made his professional debut for the club in October 2017. He held a place in the side through their relegation to Super League 2, playing 20 times and scoring five goals in his last season there before Panathinaikos paid a reported €4.5 million for him in August 2020.
Across five seasons in green, Ioannidis scored 51 goals in 190 appearances. Sporting CP came in for him in September 2025, agreeing a total package of €25 million — a €22 million fixed fee plus up to €3 million in add-ons — and tying him to a contract to 2030 with a €100 million release clause and a 25% sell-on cut left for Panathinaikos.
His international career has followed the same curve. Ioannidis made his Greece debut in September 2022 against Cyprus in the Nations League and has since become a regular presence in front of goal for the national side, scoring against France, Kazakhstan, a brace against Finland, and further goals against the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria. By October 2025 he had earned 21 caps and six goals for his country.
