Federico Abadía

Federico Abadía learned his trade in the Boca Juniors youth ranks, where he spent four years without breaking into the first team. A loan to Talleres de Córdoba and a subsequent move to Spain's lower divisions with CD Torrijos kept his career moving, but the path back to Argentina through Racing de Córdoba and Ferro Carril Oeste brought no settled role either. A brief spell at Racing Club de Montevideo produced only one competitive appearance, yet it was enough to earn him an Uruguayan Segunda División winner's medal. It was at Gimnasia y Tiro, in Salta, that Abadía finally became a first-choice goalkeeper. That form carried the club into the Torneo Federal A promotion final against Douglas Haig, which finished 1-1 after normal time. Abadía saved two penalties in the shootout as Gimnasia y Tiro won 3-1 to reach Primera Nacional. He went on to make over 100 appearances for the club before its promotion campaign closed out. Since January 2025 Abadía has played for Cúcuta Deportivo in Colombia's Primera A, wearing the number 24 shirt. He has not been capped at senior international level.
