Giuliano Cerato

Giuliano Cerato came through the youth ranks at Vélez Sarsfield before that spell ended in December 2021, when his contract was mutually terminated. By then he had already begun his professional career elsewhere, having joined UAI Urquiza in 2019, where he spent two seasons before the move away from Vélez. Free of a contract, he signed for Instituto de Córdoba that same December.

The switch paid off quickly. Cerato was a regular in the Instituto side that won the 2022 Primera Nacional, Argentina's second tier, making 30 league appearances and scoring twice as the club secured promotion. He stayed on through 2024, building up around 75-80 appearances in the light blue and white across both Primera Nacional and the Primera División. Vélez Sarsfield still holds a 50% sell-on clause on the defender, a reminder of where his career started.

In January 2025 he went out on loan to Aldosivi for the season, returning to Instituto once the loan spell ended. Back at the club this year, Cerato has found his best individual form yet: 27 appearances between the Liga Profesional and Copa Argentina, with 4 goals and an assist.

Listed as a midfielder early in his career, Cerato has settled into a role as a right-sided defender, though he continues to feature at times as a right midfielder — the kind of positional flexibility that has kept him in Instituto's plans through the promotion, the loan, and now his return.
