About the player
Gonzalo Gabriel Figueroa spent three years away from eleven-a-side football entirely. Between 2020 and 2022 he played futsal for Luz y Fuerza in Río Grande and worked at an electricity company.
Born in Córdoba, Figueroa came through the youth ranks at Racing de Córdoba before his career took him through Argentina's lower divisions, including spells at Villa Dálmine and Sol de Mayo. It was at Deportivo Armenio, which he joined on a free transfer in July 2025, that he built the goalscoring form that got him noticed: 11 goals in 27 matches before he moved on in 2026.
That form earned him an 18-month loan to Deportes La Serena in Chile, with an option to buy. Brought on as a second-half substitute against Universidad Católica on 25 July 2026 with his side trailing 2-0, Figueroa scored twice, in the 72nd and 86th minutes, and set up a third for Matías Marín as La Serena salvaged a 3-3 draw. He has not been capped by Argentina at any level.
