About the player
Ignacio Sáez came through the youth ranks at Universidad de Chile, where he was called up to train with the first team in April 2022 before signing his first professional contract two years later. Since then his career has been built almost entirely on loans away from the club that trained him.
The first of those moves sent him to Deportes Recoleta in April 2024, where he made his professional debut that same month. A second loan followed in March 2025, this time to Deportes Concepción, and a third took him to Deportes La Serena.
Along the way he has also drawn attention outside the penalty area. In March 2026, his selection ahead of Christopher Tosceli for a match against Unión La Calera stirred debate.
