Jovani Francisco Welch López

Jovani Welch came through the youth system at Alianza FC in Panama before his career took him to Venezuela, Portugal, Colombia, and Bolivia. He was sent out on loan to Zamora FC in Venezuela in 2022, then spent two seasons in Portugal with Académico de Viseu, still on loan from Alianza. That spell in Europe preceded a permanent move to Colombia, where he signed for Millonarios in July 2024. A further loan followed in 2025, this time to Monagas SC back in Venezuela, before he joined The Strongest in Bolivia in January 2026.

At international level, Welch has become a regular fixture for Panama, with 21 caps to his name. His only goal for the national side came against Montserrat in June 2024, in qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He was part of the Panama squad that reached the final of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, appearing in three matches during that run. The following year, he featured at the 2024 Copa América, playing in all three group games against Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay before Panama's quarter-final exit against Colombia, in which he also took part.

Welch has yet to appear at a World Cup final tournament. His move to The Strongest gives him a fresh platform in Bolivian football.
