Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney came through Celtic's academy and made his senior debut for the club in April 2015, going on to win four Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups before his move to Arsenal in August 2019. He was named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year and SFWA Young Player of the Year three years running, from 2015–16 to 2017–18. That transfer south, worth a reported £25 million.

At Arsenal he lifted the FA Cup in 2019–20 and the Community Shield the following season, but injuries repeatedly disrupted his time in London. A dislocated shoulder in 2019 was followed by a serious knee injury in February 2021 that required surgery and ended his campaign.

A loan spell at Real Sociedad in 2023–24 brought 26 appearances across the league, Copa del Rey and Champions League, before he returned to Celtic on a free transfer in June 2025, signing a five-year contract. For Scotland, Tierney made his debut in March 2016 and has since earned 58 caps. His first international goal was an own goal against Israel in 2018, but his second, a stoppage-time header against Denmark in October 2024, sealed Scotland's qualification for the 2026 World Cup. He has featured at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024, where a hamstring injury against Switzerland ended his tournament, and has been named in the squad for the 2026 World Cup.
