Rangers beat Celtic 3-0 at Ibrox to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup, with Dan Neil scoring twice on his Old Firm debut.
Neil, signed from Sunderland in the summer, put the hosts ahead after 23 minutes, finishing a move involving Naderi and Kelsy. He doubled the lead in the 75th minute, lashing in from distance.
Celtic, unbeaten domestically this season under Martin O'Neill, never got going. The visitors failed to create a clear chance against Rangers' man-for-man press and lost a first cup tie in seven against their Glasgow rivals.
The match was played without away fans at Ibrox after the SPFL ruled against Celtic supporters attending, part of a ticket allocation dispute between the two clubs. The same restriction will apply next Sunday when Rangers and Celtic meet again, this time in the William Hill Premiership.
Chermiti, 22, remains on 11 goals but was a non-factor today. Rangers are chasing their first silverware since 2024.
